During a press junket for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, Kevin Feige confirmed a collective dream from Marvel fans: Keanu Reeves has been approached to join the MCU.

There are a number of actors that Marvel fans would like to see as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the most recurrent one is Keanu Reeves. Back when the studio was looking for its Doctor Strange, Reeves was among the many rumored names, but we know how that turned out.

The most recent rumor about Reeves and the MCU says that he is in early talks to join The Eternals, but like everything about this project, it’s a mystery who he would play (or if he will end up joining the cast). However, we now know that Marvel has wanted Reeves to join the family as much as fans want him to.

Speaking to ComicBook during a press junket for Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, was asked about the possible inclusion of some big Hollywood names to the MCU, including Keanu Reeves. Feige then confirmed that they have talked to Reeves about it – and they have done it for years now. He explained:

"“We talk to him for almost every film we make. We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it”."

Feige added that, just like they did with Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home and who was approached by the studio multiple times until they found the perfect role, they hope that once the ideal role for Reeves appears, he will join the Marvel family.

Reeves is no stranger to the world of comic book adaptations, as he starred in Francis Lawrence’s Constantine back in 2005. He has since regained popularity thanks to his role as the assassin John Wick in the trilogy of the same name. A fourth John Wick movie is now in development, so even if we don’t see him as part of the MCU, we will continue to do so in the universe of John Wick.

Keanu Reeves would be an excellent addition to the MCU, and he would fit the world of The Eternals quite perfectly, but there are also other characters he could easily portray. It’s only a matter of waiting.
