1. A live-action mix of Into the Spider-Verse

Into the Spider-Verse was an instant classic. The 2018 animated film introduced mainstream fans to Miles Morales. Some likened it to the impact that Black Panther as a cultural phenomenon.

The film became a critical success with 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and an A+ CinemaScore. It also snuck into the Top 50 highest-grossing animated films of all-time. So what’s next? A sequel and spin-offs, of course.

Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Joaquim Dos Santos will direct Into the Spider-Verse sequel. Meanwhile, Batman: Year One director Lauren Montgomery is set to take on an animated film dedicated to the women of the Spider-Verse,  However, Shameik Moore, who starred as Miles Morales, has another idea for a Spider-Verse film:

"“Since we’ve established the Spider-Verse, I think it would be cool for us to go from animation to live action and back. I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but that’s would I would like.”"

Moore isn’t the only one hoping to see a loaded Spider-Verse film. Imagine a film where Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their respective roles as Spider-Man. Garfield’s Spider-Man got the ax with the Sony/Disney deal. It’s about time for his triumphant return.

Seeing him on the same screen with Tom Holland and the grandfather of it all, Tobey Maguire, is just awesomeness. This comes from Holland, who was asked about the possibility of joining Maguire and Garfield:

"“It would be amazing, it would be really, really cool. And it’s something that the fans really want. So, whether Marvel and Sony decided to do that, it’s up to them. It’s not up to me, I can’t walk in like ‘Kevin [Feige], this is what we’re doing on the next one.’ But it would be really awesome.”"

It’s an easy sell that could break records. Alita Battle Angel is the most recent example of a well-blended combination of live-action and animation. Imagine what Sony could do. If a deal isn’t reached, the possibilities are endless.
