A new rumor suggests that the Inhumans franchise could be getting a reboot.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been successful over the years with box office smashes and it shows. Unfortunately, not everything is a home run. Marvel Television took a swing at bringing in the alien Inhumans and struck out. They may not have been a well-known comic book franchise, but that hasn’t stopped the company before, as Marvel Studios had great success with Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately, this was a major flop from the beginning.

Cutting Medusa’s hair was foolish, the actress who played Crystal sucked the air out of every scene she was in, and Karnak was flat-out boring. Even though Anson Mount’s Black Bolt and Iwan Rheon’s Maximus were both good, it wasn’t enough to carry the show. What’s even worse was the film’s premiere, which was released theatrically, opened to poor reviews and low box office gains. This may seem like a lot of negativity, but there is a silver lining. It seems the Inhumans may actually be making a comeback at some point down the line.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

A report from MCU Cosmic claims Marvel may be looking to bring back the aliens on Attilan. It also says that it will most likely not be picking up from the canceled ABC series, as well. However, it looks like such a project won’t be happening at any time in the near future. Marvel Comics fans shouldn’t be shocked by this rumor. It was recently announced that Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) will be making her debut on the Disney Plus streaming service in her own live-action series. Since she’s an Inhuman, it would make sense that they’d introduce them at some point to explain the origins of her powers.

The Inhumans have been Marvel Comics’ step stool for decades. They’re powerful beings that were used to make other teams like the Fantastic Four or characters like the Hulk look stronger. The ABC TV show didn’t help their cause either.

This may sound like the opinion of an overly-critical person, but it’s all out of love. As a fan of Medusa, Black Bolt, and Maximus, this writer hopes this possible reboot can show the world how great they are. The Inhumans are some of the most powerful beings in the universe. Black Bolt alone can shatter a mountain with a whisper. They deserve to have a platform where they can shine. Let’s hope this happens. What do you think about this rumor?
