Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson teased fans with the possibility of directing a Marvel movie, and here’s why he could be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s an interesting time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox has granted them the rights to the X-Men (something fans have been waiting on for years), the Disney Plus streaming service will produce more MCU content like She-Hulk and Moon Knight, and, of course, there are all the upcoming Phase 4 movies.

Even with Spider-Man going back to Sony, Marvel is still destined to do well in the future – so well that a ton of celebrities are still showing interest in the Marvel franchise. And it looks like 50 Cent isn’t exempt from this.

For anyone unaware, the rapper/singer/actor/producer is one of the best in the world at promoting his brand. When the internet became a necessary means of promoting yourself, 50 adapted better than most. Thisis50.com was one of the hottest websites at the time, and he continues to have a strong social media presence today. Why is this relevant? Well, because he may have thrown his name into the Marvel Studios hat.

Taking to Instagram, 50 Cent joked about his directorial experience on Starz’s Power and what he intends to direct next, referencing Marvel in the process. Check it out below:

As the phrase goes, “‘Many a true word is spoken in jest.” Everything that 50 Cent does has a purpose. Even something as simple as an Instagram post has a meaning. He may have been joking by adding a picture calling himself “50 Scorsese”, but he is more than capable of bringing something Marvel Studios will need – films or shows with the kind of feeling we got from watching the Marvel Netflix shows. Programming with an edge.

We all love the Marvel Studios movies. However, the audience does require something different. Without variety, things can and will get stale. Also, if we’ve learned anything from Amazon’s show The Boys, either Deadpool movie, and Logan it’s that there is a market for R-rated comic book shows and movies.

50 Cent gave the world Power – a popular cable show that he produces and even directed an episode of. It’s safe to say that it’s unlike anything we’ve seen in recent years, as it has been praised for its realistic characters, compelling storytelling and strong pacing. Moreover, more and more people tuned in whenever a new episode came out – with the later seasons garnering more viewers than the earlier ones. In fact, it was the reason some even had Starz in their cable plan.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

If 50 was to direct a film or TV series for Marvel, there’s a strong chance that he’d be connecting the people who love him due to Power, with a ton of Marvel Comics fans. And after a quick look at some Marvel Comics characters, it’s clear that 50 Cent’s style from Power can be adapted into a show and/or film.

Luke Cage, Punisher, and Misty Knight will need new projects soon. Furthermore, he could also venture and do a Gambit movie or show, providing the intensity and smoothness needed to make a movie like this work.

Those are just some examples, but it doesn’t matter what he chooses to do, because it goes without saying that 50 Cent would be able to bring his unique style to a Marvel product, bringing in a ton of new viewers in the process.
