Riverdale season 4 trailer teases dark days for Jughead Jones
The long-awaited first trailer for Riverdale’s fourth season has been released and things don’t look good for Jughead Jones.
Riverdale‘s third season wasn’t short of shock value. The show, which made its name on mystifying audiences with its unpredictable twists and indescribable jump scares, petrified us all when it revealed its new villain to be a twisted monster named the Gargoyle King.
However, as the season unfolded, there were more twists and turns as cults, underground boxing organizations, white collar prisons and a one-night hunt that would change the face of Riverdale forever all got added to the mix. But not even that could prepare us for the goosebump-inducing ending, which saw Betty, Archie and Veronica burning Jughead’s bloody beanie.
The moment left fans in a state of confusion and understandably left us all wondering how we were supposed to wait months for answers. However, it now seems that we have something to keep us going as we wait for the season premiere.
With the premiere nearly upon us, The CW has unveiled a brand new trailer – and let’s just say things are about to get a whole lot crazier. Check it out below:
Focusing on Archie, Jughead, Veronica and Betty’s attempts to move forward with a drama-free senior year, the trailer is bookended by what appears to be a search party, desperately searching for the missing Jughead.

However, just before it cuts off, we catch a glimpse of Jughead trapped inside a casket as he screams for help.
However, before all of this drama unfolds, the show is set to produce an emotional season premiere – which will be a special tribute to the late great Luke Perry (who sadly passed away earlier this year) that will honor both him and his character Fred Andrews.
One thing is for sure: Riverdale will certainly never be the same.
