Sebastian Stan says fans should gear up for plenty of surprises in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The status quo of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to change even more when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrives on Disney Plus. We know Sam Wilson is now Captain America and that Bucky Barnes will try to find his place in the world. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it will play out in the way audiences expect.

Sebastian Stan recently appeared at the Fandemic Tour (via ComicBook.com), where he confirmed that he has seen several scripts for the upcoming Marvel limited series. He, unsurprisingly, refused to go into any specifics but did tease what we can expect from the characters and the show as a whole:

"“I’ll tell you I have. I have seen them and I’m so excited about it. It’s going to be so cool and kind of crazy. All I can say is it’s just new and different from what you’ve seen so far. I mean, it will be totally in line with everything that has happened and what we’ve seen and so on, but these characters are getting such additional mileage in terms of learning about who they are now, what they feel, what they’re thinking, and there’s a lot of action, comedy, you know there’s going to be comedy.”"

Stan believes fans are going to be satisfied with the show and that there will also be some elements that will catch them by surprise:

"“I feel like you’re going to be happy. I think you’re going to be very happy. And there’s some crazy stuff, like stuff you don’t see coming from anywhere."

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel Studios has been promising interesting new stories and characters for their slate of Disney Plus projects, so it would make sense that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would throw a few curveballs at viewers. Not much has been said about the show thus far, but some believe it may incorporate elements from comic book storylines like “Take Back the Shield.”

Amid all the speculation about Sharon Carter’s involvement or the role Wyatt Russell’s John Walker will play, one also has to wonder how the relationship between Wilson and Barnes will continue to develop. Will the two continue to stick by each other in the wake of Steve Rogers’ absence, or will they let their on and off rivalry get the best of them.
