Marvel announces The Falcon and the Winter Soldier production start

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan announced the official start of production for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Good things come to those who wait, and let it be known that the wait for Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be well deserved.

Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier) took to Marvel Studios’ official Instagram to announce the series’ start of production in the most Mackie-Stan way possible.

Both actors have an ongoing joke about “hating” young actor Tom Holland, and the same humor seems to have found itself on set. On the Instagram page, both Mackie and Stan posted videos that production is well underway… back to back. The actors clearly weren’t informed that both of them were doing the takeover, bickering back and forth. By the end of the story, both co-stars announced, together, that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has officially begun production.

Anthony Mackie also took to his official Twitter to share a not-so-revealing set picture with both his and Stan’s chairs, celebrating the beginning of this new era:

Sam Wilson, clearly credited as Falcon for the show, will most likely see an expansion in his character arc, especially after  Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed down the shield to him at the end of Avengers: Endgame, symbolizing that he will be the next Captain America. It will be interesting to see how Falcon will keep the legacy of Captain America going and, given Sam Wilson’s determination and heart, it’s very hard to believe he will let us down.

With Bucky Barnes, we haven’t heard much about his story arc since the events of Captain America: Civil War and it’ll be fun to see him work side-by-side and with Falcon and see how his character will progress throughout the series.

All in all, let’s hope that The Falcon and Winter Soldier will give us the same dynamic that we saw between the two in Civil War.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is slated for a fall 2020 release and will be the first of the Marvel Studios limited series that will stream exclusively on Disney Plus.
