Star Wars: The 10 best villains of the Skywalker Saga, ranked
By Scott Brown
10. General Greivous
Who doesn’t love ol’ four arms? Seriously, he has four arms, each with a lightsaber in hand. Grievous has an awesome design. He also generally scratches the odder boxes that Star Wars often occupies, as he’s basically a cyborg, a coughing cyborg at that. Grievous is honestly such a weird character that he fits perfectly into the universe. Honestly, if the technology had been able to at the time, George Lucas probably would’ve used him much more often than just Revenge of the Sith and Clone Wars.
Moving past the complete oddities that accompany the character, Grievous is also simply an intimidating villain. The fact that he is considered a Jedi killer alone should be enough to let you know how seriously he should be taken but, once he’s seen in action, it’s obvious why he’s a leader in the Separatist army.
Once his character is expounded on within Clone Wars though, he becomes even better. Unfortunately, his backstory isn’t fully explained, but there are enough hints at it during the episode “Grievous Lair” to really grow the character in meaningful ways. That episode also establishes him as the horror villain that he truly is at heart.
