1. Green Arrow

There was no sign of Oliver Queen or the Green Arrow in Birds of Prey. However, with Black Canary making her big-screen debut, there’s no reason we shouldn’t see Oliver sooner rather than later. Thanks to The CW’s Arrow, fans got a chance to see his story play out in a live-action format. However, that version of Oliver Queen has reached its end, and it’s time the DCEU had its own version.

For this fan, the Olicity thing was cute for television, but Black Canary and Green Arrow are iconic. Who wouldn’t want to see those two come face to face in a Mr. and Mrs. Smith-like film? The Arrowverse’sOliver Queen also lacked the strong political beliefs that drove the murderous vigilante. Before we see the romantic duo on screen, having a good old-fashioned, origin story would be great. Andy Diggle’s 2007 graphic novel, Green Arrow: Year One, is a great start for source material.

With Matt Reeves’ Batman hopefully serving as the beacon of hope, the DCEU could use a hero like Oliver, who sees death as a form of justice. Green Arrow’s lethal approach could lead to some interesting banter in the Hall of Justice.  And this writer wouldn’t mind see Garrett Hedlund wearing the emerald hood on the big screen.

Of course, we’re a long way from that happening. Still, it’s fun to imagine, but it doesn’t happen with a Green Arrow movie. Birds of Prey made it possible, and it doesn’t need a $100 million budget. Let’s not waste any time — Walter Hamada and Warner Bros. need to make it happen.
