Showrunner Kevin Smith has added Mark Hamill and a star-studded cast to Netflix’s anime series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

While the live-action Masters of the Universe film reboot has been unable to gain enough momentum to warrant a theatrical release, it seems the Netflix button is definitely on play for the animated franchises like She-Ra and the Princess of Power and the Kevin Smith-led anime, Masters of the Universe: Revelation (yes, semicolons in titles are in).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith has assembled an all-star cast led Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chris Wood. Powerhouse Animation has lent the full might of their creative team to the product, as Mattel Animation is also producing the series.

It’s been a few months since Smith teased the voice cast of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which he originally did while promoting the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, but here we are. Wood is set to play the heroic Prince Adam/He-Man, while Hamill portrays his archenemy, Skeletor. Headey will voice his second-in-command, Evil-Lyn.

Gellar will voice He-Man’s cohort, Teela, and Liam Cunningham has been tapped for his comrade, Man-at-Arms. The cast also includes Allan Oppenheimer, Stephen Root, Griffin Newman, Diedrich Bader, Tiffany Smith, Alicia Silverstone, Cree Summer, Phil LaMarr, Tony Todd and various others.

Smith, a longtime fan of the franchise, is geeking out about the sheer amount of talent he’s able to utilize in this sandbox. “I cannot believe the line-up of talent I get to play with,” he said in a statement. He continued:

Also serving as executive producers are Adam Bennett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Batman Beyond) and Rob David (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe). Susan Corbin, who is behind some of Mattel’s animated shows (Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures), also serves as producer. Set to continue where the original series left off in 1985, Netflix has yet to confirm a release date. Mattel TV also has a 3D, animated He-Man in the works, which is aimed at younger viewers.
