Ben Affleck fully supports Zack Snyder’s goal to release his version of Justice League.

Ben Affleck has officially joined the countless fans who are campaigning for the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut. The actor explained to CinemaBlend that he was initially unaware of the supposed film cut or the fanfare surrounding it. But it didn’t take long for him to throw his support to his former collaborator:

"“I didn’t know about it. Zack was like, ‘Hey, they are doing this thing.’ And I said, ‘Zack, I love you, and I support you. However I can help you.'”"

Justice League‘s road to the big screen was one marked by production changes and tragedy, as Snyder was forced to drop out after the sudden passing of his daughter. With this, Avengers director Joss Whedon was brought in to complete the film. Affleck acknowledged the delicacy of the situation and how it affected the final product:

"“I do think that movie, you know, having two directors is a very weird thing. And for Justice League, the director had a family tragedy. And so you have a kind of cow’s body with a horse’s head a little bit with two directors a lot of times, for better or for worse.”"

It’s unclear as to how much Affleck knows about the status of the “Snyder Cut,” but the actor does “think Zack’s cut should be available.” While he’s now made his feelings about the project official, Affleck previously tweeted his support last fall.

Affleck isn’t the first actor to lend his voice to the Synder Cut movement. His Justice League castmates — Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher — have all been vocal about the film’s release, to varying degrees. Conversely, Superman actor Henry Cavill has been somewhat indifferent about the situation and is unsure if an alternate cut of the superhero film actually exists.

This is arguably the biggest question most fans and pundits have when it comes to Snyder’s Cut. But production stills and teases released through social media continue to give fans hope.

It’s honestly difficult to say if Snyder’s original vision will ever see the light of day. Warner Bros. currently has no plans to release any kind of alternate cut of Justice League. And even if it gets the green light, it could take some time to put the necessary pieces in place.
