Alison Brie has responded to rumors that she could play She-Hulk.

Disney Plus will expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe by building on the stories of existing characters and introducing fresh faces like Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. Jennifer Walters, AKA She-Hulk, is another one of the new heroes on the way, and Marvel appears to be narrowing down their casting search to an “Alison Brie-type.” Well, Brie herself is well aware of these reports, and she has some interesting thoughts.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Brie revealed that she was surprised to find herself linked to the project but was also flattered by it:

"“I don’t really go on Twitter anymore. So I didn’t really realize it was such a trending thing, but I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of side-by-side pictures of me and She-Hulk, which I just thought, ‘cool.’ And then that quote about an ‘Alison Brie-type,’ which honestly, I found very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the ‘Anne Hathaway-type’ or the ‘Zooey Deschanel-type.’ I was like very flattered to be my own type for somebody else.”"

Despite her answer, Corden attempted to pry any additional thoughts from the actress about potentially playing the role. She would only play coy about taking the part and inferred that she has not spoken to Marvel about it. However, Brie did admit that she does “find it interesting.”

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

As cryptic as Brie’s response is, it does seem that she’s at least thought about the idea of playing the Marvel hero. Previous reports even mentioned that she herself could also be in the running for the part, but it appears Marvel Studios has yet to reach out.

Disney Plus’ She-Hulk has been surrounded by a swarm of reports, ranging from the accuracy of her origin story to the rumored inclusion of General Ross’ Red Hulk. What we do know is that Emmy Award-winning writer Jessica Gao has been tapped to serve as showrunner and head writer on the series and that filming is currently slated to begin sometime in July.
