John Cena posted a photo of Valiant character X-O Manowar on his Instagram hinting that he may be playing the character.

WWE superstar John Cena is a rising star in Hollywood having starred in blockbuster film Bumblebee with his future roles including F9 and The Suicide Squad where he will possibly be playing Peacemaker. There are many possibilities when it comes to other roles that Cena could have in comic-book films. It now appears that he may be hinting at his next role.

In an Instagram post, Cena posted a photo with no caption, as he so often does. However, the picture is that of X-O Manowar, a Valiant character co-created by writers Jim Shooter and Steve Englehart, and artists Bob Layton and Barry Windsor-Smith.

The character was created in 1992 and has an ongoing series that started in 2012. The story focuses on Aric of Dacia, a Roman, and his many battles across many centuries and around the galaxy. The character is most wel- known for his sentient X-O Manowar armor.

More from Movies

If X-O Manowar were to get his own movie, it would mark another push to creating more movies based on the characters from the Valiant universe. Vin Diesel recently starred in Bloodshot, also part of the Valiant universe.

This could be Sony’s effort to get a superhero universe going with the team of Unity. Unity is a global law enforcement team made up of superpowered operatives who are tasked with protecting humanity from top-secret threats.

They work as agents of the Global Agency for Threat Excision – known as G.A.T.E. for short – and act under the direction of both U.S. and U.K. intelligence.

Since their first appearance back in 2013, the team’s members have included the likes of Eternal Warrior (an immortal warrior), X-O Manowar, Livewire (a psionic technopath), Ninjak (a ninja), Toyo Harada (a telepath and telekinetic) and Bloodshot himself.

Nothing is official yet, but the superhero game is the biggest one going in Hollywood right now, so it would not be that much of a surprise if an effort to get a Valiant cinematic universe going turns into a reality.
