Don’t adjust your screen and hold on before you click the next button. Seeing Rita Ora’s name may come as a bit of a shock since she’s mostly known for her music. However, the Platinum artist has been showing off her acting chops for a while.

She’s played Mia Grey in the Fifty Shades films, but she also has credits in movies like Southpaw – in which she played Maria Escobar, the drug-addicted wife of Hector. Yes, her time was short but her performance was sweet – at least sweet enough to make an impression on Hollywood.

As a matter of fact, Rita Ora was one of the original actresses vying for the role of Iris West. Clemons beat her out, but it’s clear that Warner Bros had their eye on the international pop star. That was in 2016, and Warner Bros has clearly kept their eyes on her. In fact, she landed a role in their 2019 blockbuster, Detective Pikachu.

For a while, her role was kept under wraps, but we’d soon learn she was Dr. Ann Lauren, a scientist that experimented on Pokémon. Once again, she proved what’ she was made of, as the cunning scientist who, for the most part, appeared as a hologram. Walter Hamada may want to keep her in-house as part of his DCEU.
