Henry Cavill is back as Superman, and he might even end up appearing in multiple DCEU films.

The wait is over, Man of Steel fans can rest easy. No, there isn’t any word of a sequel, but it’s still great news: The man who started it all – Henry Cavill – is set to return to the DCEU as Superman.

For a while, questions lingered about Cavill’s role as the Last Son of Krypton. Between the failure that was Justice League, his role in The Witcher, and the lackluster news regarding a Man of Steel sequel, things weren’t looking great for some time there. Those days are behind us it seems, as Cavill is expected to make his DCEU return in an unexpected way.

The news following his impending return suggested that his Clark Kent and/or Superman may make an appearance in multiple DCEU films. So, does that make him the Nick Fury of the DCEU? If he is, we’re sure not complaining.

Now, the question is, which DCEU movie(s) will Henry Cavill appear in? Can’t count on Supergirl’s film with rumors suggesting it’s being put on the shelf. Black Adam doesn’t seem like a likely spot either according to recent reports. Of course, no one knows which movies he’ll make his cameo in. Like Superman fanatics, it’s fun to guess.

4. Black Adam 2

Admittedly, this one’s a bit of a stretch since we haven’t gotten Black Adam, yet. However, rest assured, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is ready to rock and roll. If you look at Johnson’s movie history, combined with the high demand for more comic book movies, Black Adam will be a blockbuster. Beyond that, The Rock hasn’t been shy about his desire to see Superman go one-on-one with Black Adam and producer Hiram Garcia is also open to the idea as he told ComicBook.com:

“I think the DC Universe is a wonderful universe and we’re open to everything… We have big aspirations for it[Black Adam]. We’re friends with Henry. [Dwayne] and Henry are friends, it’s a huge comic book brand as well. And I always just loved the idea. Who knows?”

That was in 2019, and the likelihood of Cavill making an appearance in Black Adam is slim. Unless the opening scene in Black Adam sees him taking on Shazam and Superman before getting into his backstory… flashback.

Black Adam 2 is a little more practical since that could be the film where we see Shazam and Black Adam come face-to-face. With Billy being a kid, he might need a little help, so why not from the Man of Steel? We’d get to see Johnson vs. Cavill in a blockbuster showdown for the ages. Can you smell what I’m cooking?
