Storm is coming to the MCU: 10 Actresses we want to see play her
8. Aja Naomi King
Despite the Beyoncé rumors, there’s still a chance the MCU could look for a bit of a lesser-known actress to play the role of Storm. Aja Naomi King is a 35-year -old actress still looking for that breakout film role despite having immense talent. She’s shown off her talents in the historical drama, Birth of a Nation.
King is mostly known for her role in the critically-acclaimed series, How to Get Away with Murder. She was strong and wore it on her sleeve and never afraid to let everyone know that she’s the smartest one in the room.As Makala, she stood toe-to-toe with the elite Viola Davis in the scenes they shared together.
She will next star in the historical drama The 24th written by BlacKkKlansman writer, Kevin Willmott, and Empire’s Trai Byers. The film is set in 1917 and focuses on the all-black Twenty-Fourth United States Infantry Regiment.
It goes without saying that King would undoubtedly capture all the greatness that is Storm.
7. Janelle Monae
If the MCU wants a singer to play Storm, look no further than the sultry Janelle Monae. The Grammy Award nominee continues to prove she’s ready for a breakout role. Monae shined in a few critically-acclaimed films as a supporting actress, Hidden Figures, Moonlight, and Harriet.
As a bonus, Monae is already part of the Disney family after voicing the character Peg in Lady and the Tramp’s remake. She’s no longer just a supporting actress, her work earned her a starring role in Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz’s horror, Antebellum. With Monae proving she’s a versatile actress, there’s no doubt she’d kill it as Storm.
