This iconic DC Comics hero could be about to headline their own DCEU film

If this report is true, Zatanna could be on her way to the big-screen in a DCEU adaptation.

Zatanna is undoubtedly one of DC Comics’ most popular characters. A master of magic that knows how to wield it with great expertise, she’s a stalwart of the Justice League Dark that many just unfortunately don’t know about. That could all be about to change, however, as big things might lie ahead for the beloved hero in the DCEU.

According to DCEU Mythic, Zatanna is set to make her big-screen debut in the years ahead as Warner Bros. has reportedly begun developing a film that will feature her.

While this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. yet, the studio had been attempting to bring a number of female DC superheroes to the silver screen, including Batgirl, Supergirl and, yes, Zatanna. So it wouldn’t be too hard to buy that they’ve decided to go head with bringing our favorite magician to life on the big screen.

The report also suggests that this will be a completely different iteration from one that may or may not appear in HBO Max’s upcoming Justice League Dark series, and that, at some point in time, other Justice League Dark characters could receive film appearances too – where they would also presumably be played by a different actor than their TV counterparts.

Zatanna’s popularity in the comics is well-documented, but she’s also enjoyed some success on television. While we don’t know if she’ll appear in the Justice League Dark series yet, she did previously appear in The CW’s Smallville (in which she was portrayed by Serinda Swan). In animation, she appeared in an important episode of the legendary Batman: The Animated Series and she plays quite the prominent role in Young Justice.
