5. Adelaide Kane

Warner Bros. is bringing a commonly known heroine among DC fans to the big screen. Perhaps, they’d like to tone it down a bit. Having an actress who’s not as well known to mainstream audiences is something the studio could consider. Adelaide Kane is a 29-year old veteran of the small screen still waiting for that breakthrough role on the big one.

Given all her experience in film and TV, her face and name will undoubtedly ring a bell for some. The Goats star had a few recurring roles on popular television shows like Teen Wolf and Once Upon a Time.  Kane hit the ground running making waves back in Australia.  In 2007, she was nominated for a Logie, the Australian version of an Emmy as “Most Popular New Talent” for her role in iconic soap opera Neighbours.

Since moving to the United States, she’s proven herself as a leading lady as, from 2013-2017, she played Mary Queen of Scots in The CW’s Reign. Moreover, her other roles include The Purge and SEAL Team Six and, just like on Reign, she stole every scene she was in.

Kane is young enough to star in a coming of age film about a hero in search of her father while discovering who she is. There’s an edginess to the Australian-born actress that’ll make Zatanna feel different than we’ve seen over the years in animation. It doesn’t matter which direction the potential movie would take with Zatanna because Kane could easily pull them all off.
