Doctor Fate – Michael C. Hall

The majority of the JSA has a direct connection to Black Adam’s home country of Egypt. Doctor Fate isn’t any different; before becoming the sorcerer we know, he was Kent Nelson. As a child, Kent took a trip to Egypt with his father, Sven, an archaeologist. They discovered the underground pyramid of a ranking mythical being, Nabu, The Lord of Order. Kent accidentally released Nabu’s spirit, killing his father.

Nabu mentored Kent, and when he was ready, he was given the Amulet of Anubis, the Cloak of Destiny, and the Helmet of Fate. With Nabu’s spiritual guidance and powers, the new Lord of Order was born. He journeyed through time impacting wars, and eventually became one of the JSA’s founding members.

It’ll be interesting to see what role Doctor Fate would potentially play in Black Adam, but his story is an amazing one. Any actor playing him should capture that tortured nature with the internal battle that exists between Nabu and Kent.

Who better than the man who knows what it’s like to have a dark passenger inside him, Michael C Hall. Hall has a captivating and distinct voice, with acting prowess and a commanding presence you want for Doctor Fate. The veteran actor won America’s heart as the mentally disturbed, murderous vigilante Dexter.

Hall also starred in The Crown, Six Feet Under, and Safe, but Doctor Fate could take his career to even greater heights. This writer can already hear him narrating a movie or mini-series where he’s searching for answers after losing time to the passenger inside.
