The Flash: Reverse Flash becomes Barry Allen in shock twist
Reverse Flash has become The Flash aka Barry Allen by using a special ability to possess his archenemy’s body.
Following Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash snapping the neck of August Heart (otherwise known as the rebel speedster Godspeed), in The Flash No.755, the Man in the Yellow Suit has successfully formed, what is for all intents and purposes, his very own Reverse-Flash Family. This “family” is called The Legion of Zoom and consists of the likes of Captain Cold, Glider, Gorilla Grodd, Trickster and the Turtle.
As detailed by Screen Rant, the Reverse-Flash has now enacted his sinister plan to not only remove The Flash from the equation but to actually become the Scarlet Speedster. Thawne, with the help of his Legion of Zoom (and the surprise addition of evil variations of Don and Dawn of the Tornado Twins), caught Barry Allen off guard as the rest of the baddies derived pleasure in assaulting the heroic speedster.
Before Thawne denounced his role as Reverse-Flash, he told Barry that back in his time in the 25th century he attempted to become The Flash but that the hero was practically impossible to replace. No matter how hard Thawne has tried, he just could not become The Flash. As a result, the villain took things to the extreme and vibrated his own body before launching himself straight into Barry, effectively taking control of his body.

Thawne has finally become who he truly wanted to be. No longer Reverse-Flash, now simply The Flash, he left the Legion of Zoom behind to deal with Barry’s own Flash Family. Meanwhile, in his own subconscious, Barry is confronted by the skeletal and decaying apparitions of what appears to be Max Mercury and Jesse Quick.
This, however, is not the first time Thawne became Barry Allen and ultimately achieved his destined goal as The Flash. In the Post-Crisis storyline “The Return of Barry Allen”, Thawne underwent cosmetic surgery to resemble the hero and fooled Wally West as well as the rest of the Flash Family.
So, how long do you think Eobard Thawne will be The Flash for? What will become of the Legion of Zoom? And what are your theories on how Barry Allen will regain control of his body? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
