Galactus has been killed at the hands of Thor.

Within the pages of Marvel Comics, there are certain beings in the galaxy that seem to be immortal. For example, on Earth there’s the Hulk. He’s been beaten, but, as we’ve seen in the new Immortal Hulk comics, death doesn’t last long. However, there’s someone in the galaxy that’s even stronger than him. He’s the Eater of Worlds, Galactus.

The Hulk may be the strongest there is, but he’s not going to survive if the planet is eaten. With someone with this kind of power, Galactus may seem unbeatable. After all, we’ve seen him beaten, but never truly destroyed. However, now we know that he isn’t completely invincible as the God of Thunder has defeated and killed Galactus. That’s impressive in itself, but it gets better than that. Thor killed him in an amazing way.

How did Thor kill Galactus?

For the past six issues of Thor, the God of Thunder has been fighting alongside Galactus against a being called The Black Winter – a being that destroyed countless universes in his wake. But we found out that Galactus was actually The Black Winter’s herald.

More from Digital Comics

Galactus made a deal with the Black Winter to be his herald in exchange for saving his life. When it was time for Galactus to pay his debt, he enlisted Thor to avoid death. When Thor found this out, he was furious. What happened next was one of the most impressive things he did in his long storied life. He killed Galactus and used him as a weapon.

The Black Winter is a being with the ability to put the fear in Galactus. Not even Odin had that kind of power. So how did Thor beat someone that powerful? He took all of Galactus’ power, turned him into a bomb, and let loose a thunderous explosion loud enough for almost everyone in the galaxy to hear.

In the end, all that was left of The Black Winter was the size of a snowflake that Thor crushed with his hands. But not before The Black Winter showed Thor how he’d die: His death would be at the hands of Thanos holding Mjolnir that has the Infinity Gems in it. Behind Thanos, was Marvel’s strongest heroes as zombies.
