The fate of Kl’rt

Marvel Comic: Empyre: Aftermath Avengers Issue No. 1

Kl’rt (the first Super Skrull) is the Skrull’s greatest warrior. He’s willing to do anything if it means saving his people. A lot of the time, he’s forced to make unpopular decisions. One of those decisions happened to be to turn the sun into a weapon. If he succeeded, billions of people would have died. Thankfully, he failed. When it came time for Emperor Dorrek VIII (Hulkling) to dish out his punishment, Kl’rt didn’t expect what he received. He wasn’t killed and awarded a warrior’s death. Instead, Emperor Dorrek told him he’d spend his life on diplomatic missions.

Why is this important?

Kl’rt is a loyal Skrull warrior, but he may disobey his emperor’s order. After a while Kl’rt may get tired of diplomatic missions. He’s been a warrior and a king. Now, he’s neither. This can only go one of two ways. He may look at this as pointless work and go back to fighting. Or, and this could be major, Kl’rt may find peace in this. After years of fighting, putting down his flaming fist could be a relief. On more than a few occasions we’ve seen Kl’rt enjoy love and happiness. We know he isn’t cold-hearted. Seeing him embrace this life would improve his character.
