The Cotati race has received a rude awakening involving the Green Door that has set the stage for Immortal She-Hulk No. 1. Be warned spoilers ahead.

Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk has not had an easy ride in the Marvel Universe as of late. When it was revealed not so long ago that “Shulkie” not only had a near-death experience following the events of Civil War II’s confrontation with Thanos but seemingly met her end and returned back to life (as disclosed in the issues of Immortal Hulk), the cousin of Dr Bruce Banner / Hulk has been going through a number of changes.

As explored by CBR, She-Hulk recently met her demise in the sixth issue of Empyre, but this time at the hands of the botanical-type race known as the Cotati. Earlier in this major event, She-Hulk was seemingly cured of her bouts of Hulk-like rage but in reality, the Cotati Priests orchestrated a plan to not only separate She-Hulk from her teammates (the Avengers and the Fantastic Four) but gain possession of her body through a ritual no less.

However, unbeknownst to the intruder, it was this Cotati’s undoing as it was unaware of most Gamma Mutates’ abilities to pass through the mysterious Green Door into the realm known as the Below-Place once you die.

The Cotati in possession of She-Hulk (now known as “Hulk”) due to their encounter with the Green Door managed to gain more access to the gamma radioactive energy that dwells there, but the Cotati using Jennifer as its host was destroyed from this Hulk’s body as a result – which ceased their influence over her.

Jennifer/She-Hulk, having survived this predicament during Empyre No.6, her life has potentially changed once more following the renegade Cotati’s actions, setting the course for Immortal She-Hulk No.1 by Al Ewing and Jon Davis-Hunt.

She-Hulk is undoubtedly one of the most popular Avengers in today’s comic book world and fans are excited to see what’s next for her in Immortal She-Hulk. She will also be taking center stage in her brand new TV series which is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will stream on Disney Plus in the future. Jennifer Walters will be played by Tatiana Maslany.
