Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot will reunite with director Zack Snyder to complete new shoots for the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

Justice League‘s failure to impress fans and critics resulted in a major reset for the DCEU which saw Warner Bros. attempt to reboot their shared universe of superheroes. During all that, it was announced that Ben Affleck would be departing the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne, while Warner Bros. reportedly decided to move on from Henry Cavill’s Superman/Clark Kent.

However, while they have since worked out some kinds of returns in separate films, Affleck and Cavill will seemingly return to the DCEU sooner than expected. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pair are set to join Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot and the trio’s Justice League co-star Ray Fisher as they all reunite to film new scenes for the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

The shoot is expected to take place in October and will last for around a week as the stars seek to bring Snyder’s cut of Justice League to life in the way that it should have always been seen.

More from DCEU

The Snyder Cut has become a phenomenon over the last three years after fans campaigned for Warner Bros. to allow the director to give us his version of the panned film. Synder had left the film during production after a family tragedy and Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator and Avengers director Joss Whedon was brought in to replace him. The contrast between styles didn’t work and fans have wanted to see Snyder’s vision ever since.

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck will return to mainstream DCEU continuity in 2022’s The Flash and Henry Cavill has reportedly agreed to some form of a return in future DCEU films.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be released as a four-part miniseries on HBO Max in 2021.
