According to a newly released interview with Collider, the Superman actor is not taking part in additional filming for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. But could that all change?

It was revealed on Wednesday that Zack Snyder would bring key members of the Justice League cast back for a week of reshoots on the DCEU film in October. However, it seems that’s not the case at all… at least not for Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel.

During an interview with Collider, Cavill revealed that he isn’t taking part in any reshoots, commenting:

"“Not shooting anything additional. No. It’s all stuff that has been already done. Obviously I don’t know how things are going to evolve and change and adapt depending on now a different length of movie and whatever may happen in post-production.”"

Interestingly, this interview came before the news of additional filming was released. The interview took place while Cavill was on the media circuit for Netflix film Enola Holmes, which released on Sept. 23.

Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher are expected to be part of the reshoots and, as recently revealed, the budget for the Snyder Cut reshoots is reportedly $70 million.

Cavill’s Superman was one of the aspects of Justice League that received the most criticism upon its 2017 release. It wasn’t his performance, but rather his CGI-doctored upper lip. Fans were also geared up to see Kal-El don his black Superman suit which he famously wore in Death of Superman, but that never came to be. Until now. The initial trailer for HBO Max’s upcoming Justice League shown at DC Fandome gave a glimpse of Cavill in the suit during a visit to the Bat Cave, along with a look at Darkseid, Iris West and a slew of additional footage.

Martian Manhunter, Ryan Choi (Atom), and Green Lantern have all been teased by Snyder on Twitter but have not been confirmed to appear.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is slated to hit HBO Max in 2021 as a four-part limited series.
