Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke to return in Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Get ready for more of Deathstroke in the DCEU as Joe Manganiello is reportedly set to reprise his role as Slade Wilson in the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League (a.k.a. the Snyder Cut) is one of the most anticipated films of 2021. While the rest of the movie release schedule remains up in the air because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the re-release of the 2017 DCEU film will make its way to HBO Max at some point in the year.
Since its announcement, it has been constantly in the headlines (let’s be honest, it was in the headlines for long before that because of how passionate fans made their voices heard), with reports of trailers, tonal differences and reshoots all popping up in the news over the past couple of weeks.
Fresh off the news that Jared Leto will be reprising his Suicide Squad role as The Joker in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, it has been now been revealed that Joe Manganiello will be returning to play Slade Wilson/Deathstroke.
How will Deathstroke play into Zack Snyder’s Justice League?
According to Collider, the action star is likely taking part in the reshoots as a recent image of him from Twitch features him sporting short white blonde hair – a look very close to that of Slade.

Fans will, of course, remember that Deathstroke did appear in the post-credits scene of Justice League when Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor recruited him. Now it seems that Snyder had other plans for the character than just that and that those plans could very well come to fruition.
On the other hand, Leto’s Joker didn’t appear in Justice League at all, so it’s fascinating to think what kind of role he could play – especially since we now know Leto is taking part in the reshoots alongside the likes of Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League gets more and more interesting by the day.
