WandaVision fan theories: Nightmare is the show’s main villain

A lot of fans are sticking to the theory that Wanda is traveling through the Multiverse to find Vision. But what if nothing she is experiencing is actually real and everything going on is just a dream?

Before the eyes begin to roll, there is precedent for this to occur in the Marvel Universe, and what better way to keep a powerful foe like Scarlet Witch out of the way than by keeping her asleep. Or it could be a way to make her suffer by toying with her imagination that the being she loves is back in her life.

This enticing guess does gain a lot more traction when one takes into consideration the connection the show has with Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson told IGN he did want to explore Nightmare in a potential sequel. While he has departed the highly anticipated Doctor Strange follow-up, there is still a chance the notorious Marvel villain could make his debut in The Multiverse of Madness or a bit sooner in WandaVision.

Nightmare runs the dream dimension in the comics, so there is a chance that could be where all of these sitcom scenarios take place, and given the villains track record, he could be manipulating Wanda into doing his evil bidding without her knowing. This theory has a lot going for it, especially the fact that it would be the perfect bridge between the Doctor Strange sequel and Disney+ original series.
