WandaVision fan theories: Wanda is taking The Vision Quest

Figuring out which source material a Marvel series or film is using can help piece together what could happen, and one theory has emerged from such discoveries. It was reported that WandaVision would be taking inspiration from John Byrne’s 1989 Vision Quest arc, which has lead many fans to get a better idea of what could go down in the Disney+ original series’ narrative.

This storyline saw Vision gets kidnapped and dismantled by an evil group known as the Vigilance. Wanda then embarks on a quest to find him, but when she fixes him, he has no memory as he is restored to his factory settings.

Wanda’s powers were a direct result of the Mind Stone, and given the fact that the Infinity Stone was the source of Vision’s power, it definitely makes a strong case for her to be able to bring him back from the dead. But if he is, in fact, missing his memories, the quest could effectively become Scarlet Witch’s attempts to create a new life for her and Vision to be happy in, which would explain all the different sitcom scenarios.

Vision could very well have forgotten all about the Avengers, Thanos, and his love for Wanda, especially since it’s shown in the trailer he has no idea that he is dead, given her need to reveal that information to him followed by a maniacal laugh.
