Guardians of the Galaxy’s own Star-Lord revealed that he’s bisexual in the pages of Marvel Comics.

Star-Lord is one of Marvel Comics’ most popular superheroes. A member of the Guardians of the Galaxy and even the Avengers from time-to-time, Peter Quill has been tearing up Marvel’s galaxy since his comic book debut back in 1976.

In an unexpected but totally welcome development, Marvel have confirmed that the iconic character is bisexual.

As explained by Entertainment Weekly, an installment titled “I Shall Make You a Star-Lord”, Guardians of the Galaxy No. 9 sees the hero in an unusual place known as Morinus – where he grows close to two humanoid beings – one female, one male – named Aradia and Mors. The comic then touchingly reveals that he has begun a polyamorous relationship with both of them, affectionately telling them that they’re both “his home”.

The reveal was met with praise from fans who are glad to see Marvel Comics increasing representation for the LGBTQ community through its characters – something that many are hoping to see more of on the big screen in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.
