5. Summer Glau in Help For The Holidays

Seeing Summer Glau might remind you of her treacherously wicked performance as Isobel Rochev/Ravager in Arrow‘s second season but fear not because in this movie, she doesn’t swing swords around like a samurai.

Help For The Holidays was released in 2012 and stars Glau as an Elf named Christine who is sent to Los Angeles by Santa so that she can help an overwhelmed family. She does that by serving as their nanny over the holiday period, forming a special bond with the kids and helping both them and the adults remember what the magic of Christmas is all about.

Glau’s performance is so joyous and, honestly, this is everything you could ever want from a heartfelt holiday classic.

4. Josh Segarra in Christmas On The Square

Another Arrowverse villain, Josh Segarra will forever be etched in TV history for his incredible performance as Adrian Chase in Arrow‘s fifth season. His role in this beloved Christmas movie, however, couldn’t be more different.

One of the newest releases on this list, Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square was released in November and centers on Christine Baranski’s Scrooge-like Regina Fuller – who returns to her hometown and attempts to evict the residents so that she can sell the land. And that’s something that Angel (Parton) cannot allow to happen.

Segarra portrays the local pastor, Christian Hathaway, and though the role is a departure from his Arrow character, he absolutely nails it – bringing the good-natured man to life with complete ease.

A light-hearted, musical reimagining of a classic Christmas tale sounds like the perfect kind of escapism the world needs right now. It’s a must-watch!
