Supergirl – In Theaters

In spite of fans’ begging and pleading and hoping for a Man Of Steel sequel, nothing has happened on that front as of yet. However, since Hamada is looking to expand the DCEU, why not dive into another Kryptonian? Yes, we already have the beloved Supergirl TV series on The CW with Melissa Benoist’s amazing portrayal, but as the series is ending, we should see Kara Zor-El on the big-screen in the future.

In Man of Steel, there’s an Easter egg pointing to Kara’s existence in the form of a ship. It’s a story that writes itself, not as a high-flying super-powered slugfest, but an intergalactic space adventure. The blueprint lies in the MoS prequel comic.

Kara is a teen on a mission looking to prove herself a worthy soldier. Her mission: Travel to different planets with a growth codex for terraforming to save Kryptonians. Unbeknownst to Kara, there’s a trader amongst them. She awakes from cryo to find her crew murdered. A battle to the death ensues, sending the aliens-crash landing on earth. The rest is Supergirl history.

An actress like Samara Weaving would kill it as Kara. She’d bring the tough, comedic, ambitious characteristics we’d want to see from the Girl of Steel in a sci-fi action film. With roles in films like The Babysitter, Ready Or Not, and Bill and Ted on the big-screen and Hollywood on the small screen, Weaving showed she’s leading-lady material. And she won’t be overshadowed by Henry Cavill once the duo shares the screen.
