2. An emotional conversation

Of the photos released of “Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Preppy Murders”, two of them make clear that Jughead Jones and his father FP are set for something of an emotional conversation.

The pair gather for a one-on-one chat in Veronica Lodge’s speakeasy, La Bonne Nuit. What they are talking about is not yet clear. However, it wouldn’t be too out-there to guess that it has something to do with FP Jones’ upcoming exit – something the show has not yet addressed.

The news that actor Skeet Ulrich had decided to leave the show came as a shock to Riverdale fans as it meant that FP would have to be written out just as he had found the happiness he craved.

How the Serpent King-turned-Sheriff will leave the town of Riverdale remains to be seen but it does appear that he will be broaching the conversation with his son before he talks to anyone else.

However the show chooses to write FP out, it’s clear that it will be the end of an era for a beloved Riverdale character. But how will Jughead, Alice, Jellybean and Betty all react to his impending departure? The upcoming second episode of Riverdale season 5 might have the answers we’re looking for.
