Avengers: Infinity War deleted scene could have introduced Silver Surfer?
By Eric Bartsch
An actor who filmed secret scenes for Avengers: Infinity War and maybe even Endgame says the scenes could resurface one day, and that has people speculating we will see the Silver Surfer in the MCU.
The combined acts of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame were a one-two punch of a grand finale for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was very definitive, but we may not have seen everything they had to offer.
Actor Curt Clendenin, rumored at the time as playing cosmic hero the Silver Surfer, informed ComicBookMovie.com in a new interview he filmed top secret scenes for at least one, but potentially both, movies that didn’t make the cut. Sworn to secrecy, he didn’t divulge the nature of said scenes, revealing that he’s “not really allowed to say too much about” it and adding that “there’s a lot.” He would add that the films’ directors, the Russo brothers are “good at leaving Easter Eggs too” before reiterating that he “can’t really say” anything.
The actor then compared how they and Marvel operate to the way George Lucas ran a Star Wars set. “You go into an audition for a movie called Blue Mountain,” said Clendenin. “And it turns out, he’s like, ‘no, surprise, it’s Star Wars.'” Continuing, he explained he has to to “leave some secrecy” and “time will tell” what comes of it all.
Many think the outcome will be the introduction of the Surfer from Zenn-La, Norin Radd, and Clendenin stoked those flames a little when he addressed the fact Marvel has things in development we, the fans, don’t even know about:
"“There’s a lot of stuff that’s not shown, and we’ve heard of all these new Marvel shows that are coming out, and we’ve heard about, let’s say, certain side projects that directors may or may not have been rumored to work on.”"
Fantastic things ahead for the Silver Surfer?
Included among the litany of confirmed shows and movies we are getting on Disney Plus and designated for theaters are the long-delayed Eternals film and a new Fantastic Four picture. Either of those has a chance of Silver Surfer showing up especially if his master, Galactus, enters the picture too.

The Devourer of Worlds is expected to stake his claim in the MCU sooner rather than later, and it’s believed it won’t be like last time. Galactus and his herald left their mark on Marvel at the movies in 2007’s Fantastic Four: The Rise of Silver Surfer – shortly before the shared universe was a reality.
The Tim Story-helmed sequel is notorious for keeping the Surfer close to his roots mostly, while substituting the Galactus comic readers know, and his giant spherical vessel, for a storm cloud that showed few signs of intelligence. It left a fairly bitter taste in fans’ mouths to say the least.
Kevin Feige and the Russos could be looking to right those wrongs and treat chromedome and the planet eater right, but until we know for sure, Clendenin looks forward to the footage he shot perhaps someday seeing the light of day:
"“You never know what kind of interesting nuggets may come to the surface. We always hear about how pilots for certain TV shows were shot and stuff, and they never saw the light of day. And then years later, someone ends up uploading something to a YouTube channel or Daily Motion or something like that. That’s not as tough on copyright things, you know? So there are those sites out there where stuff finds its way peeking through. So, we’ll see what kind of fun things evolve throughout the future.”"
Do you think there’s anything to connections alleged between Curt Clendenin, the Silver Surfer, and Avengers: Infinity War? Better yet, are we, in your opinion, bound to see Surfer in MCU Phase 4 or 5? Sound off down below and elsewhere.
