Wanda knows who tried to kill her in X-Men: Trial of Magneto No. 4. Who was responsible for the misdeed against Marvel’s powerful sorceress?

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto started during the Hellfire Gala when the body of the Scarlet Witch was discovered. Once the investigations began, all of the signs pointed to Magneto. First, he was the last one to see Wanda Maximoff alive. Second, his spare Cerebro helmet had been stolen. Lastly, she was choked with metal (Magneto’s specialty).

Magneto seems guilty based on those three things. It also doesn’t help that he admitted to killing her at the end of X-Men: Trial of Magneto issue No. 2.

After what happened to the Scarlet Witch, the Avengers and teams of X-Men defeat the kaijus attacking Krakoa and they’re then greeted by Wanda Maximoff’s future, present, and past selves. She tells everyone that she accidentally caused these kaijus to attack Krakoa. This leads to her apologizing for her conjuring the beasts and dropping a bombshell on everyone: She knows who tried to kill her.

Marvel: Who tried to kill the Scarlet Witch?

Like most comic book mysteries, things aren’t what they seem. Most readers knew that Magneto didn’t kill the Scarlet Witch. For one, he loves her. She may not be his biological daughter (read Marvel Comics: AXIS for that), but he still feels like he’s her father and she treats him as such. Also, whoever put this together planned it too well. Now, we need to know who did it.

This writer wrote an article looking at six characters that may have killed the Scarlet Witch. Among them were Mystique, Fabian Cortez, Hank McCoy, Henry Peter Gyrich, Mr. Sinister, and Charles Xavier. Of those potential choices, Mystique still seems like the obvious choice. She’s smart enough to plan all of this out and she’s a shapeshifter. Her actions in X-Men: Inferno don’t help her case either. However, there are other people that could be involved.

Billy (Wiccan) mentions that a metal that can hold an enchantment was used to kill Wanda. That means someone with magical powers could have done it. Does that make Magik a suspect? Did a telepath like Emma Frost use her powers to make it look like Magento? She also hasn’t forgiven Wanda for House of M.

What about Emma’s “daughters’ the Stepford Cuckoos? In X-Force No. 25, they were acting secretive. Phoebe even broke up with Kid Omega despite being in love with him. Was she trying to save him from being associated with her?

These are only some of the options. Stay tuned to find out, “Who done it” in Marvel’s X-Men: Trial of Magento.
