10. Wanda Maximoff

Comic book project: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (in theaters)

At the end of WandaVision,  Wanda Maximoff was digging into dark magic – something that made fans worried she could be destined to go down an evil path. It doesn’t help that she went crazy in the comic books (see Avengers: Disassembled and House of M for more on that). However, the trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows Stephen Strange going to her for help. So what is she: The hero or the villain? The funny thing is that she could be both.

Just because Wanda is helping Doctor Strange doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an ulterior motive. Or, maybe she helps because she’s a good person and ultimately changes her mind in the middle of the movie. She wants to learn everything she can about magic. Helping Strange could just be a means to an end. This writer would bet on her helping to become stronger.

9. Batgirl

Comic book project: Batgirl  (movie on HBO Max)

A Batgirl movie is overdue. Barbara Gordon has been one of the premier characters in comic books for decades. She should have starred in her own movie a long time ago, especially with the recent surge of comic book heroes getting projects. Thankfully, HBO Max is making it happen.

Leslie Grace was a great casting choice. First, she’s a versed dancer, which will undoubtedly make her action scenes look more fluid. And, since she’s young, we could see her as Barbara Gordon for years to come. Hopefully this movie will take off and we’ll get to see her grow with the character in the DCEU.
