5 huge Marvel, DC and comic book moments fans should know about (April 2022)

Michelangelo is dead
Comic book: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin No. 5
The idea of older heroes returning to take up the reins as hero one more time became popular after Old Man Logan was well received. The most recent spin on this idea was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. When it began, comic book fans were in awe. Three of the four turtles, Casey Jones, and Splinter were all killed by the Foot Clan. The only one who remained was Michelangelo. He left to get his mind in the right space and came back to avenge his family.
After a failed attempt, Mikey found April and her daughter Casey (guess who her dad is). The trio built a resistance to fight and take back their city. While they fought, Michelangelo battled and the Foot Clan’s leader, Oroku Hiroto, died trying to kill Mikey. Mikey may have survived the assault, but he died soon after.
Why is this important?
Michelangelo’s life was Hell, but his afterlife was Heaven. His brothers, Splinter, and Casey Jones met him as if the events that killed them never happened. Despite everything he went through, at least Mikey was given well deserved peace.
The story doesn’t end there, though. April and her daughter Casey were thriving. Casey was still training to become a better ninja – something readers assumed she would do. The noteworthy part of the ending was Casey and April recreating the accident that created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It doesn’t look like this story is over.
