Superman can’t trust his boyfriend

Comic book: Superman: Son of Kal-El No. 10

Lois Lane is known for doing whatever she can to get the story, tell the truth, and protect her loved ones. It’s one thing to help her husband, it’s another thing altogether when it’s her son. Jon Kent being almost as strong as his dad (Superman) doesn’t change that. It’s her son and she’ll work harder to protect him any way she can. Even if it puts her health in jeopardy. This is what happens here.

Batman shows up at the Kent household and tells Lois that it’s time to go and that the Justice League can’t guarantee her safety. When Jon says that his boyfriend, Jay Nakamura, should come, Batman says no. When the three get into the Bat-Plane, Bruce tells them that they can’t trust Jon’s boyfriend.

Why is this important?

Despite what the internet may tell you, Batman isn’t always right. He’s failed or gotten the wrong information multiple times. It’s unlikely that Jay is trying to hurt Jon and Lois. He’s probably trying to build a story about Jon. That doesn’t mean that he’s doing it maliciously or that Jon still won’t be hurt by the lies. It is possible that Jay isn’t being completely honest with Jon, but it could also be that Batman’s intel is wrong or incomplete.
