The Moon Knight finale has a post-credit scene with a secret meaning. Here is what you need to know about the final scene in Moon Knight!

We knew we were in for a wild ride heading into the final episode of Moon Knight season 1, but nothing could have prepared us for just what the creative team had in store.

In just 44 minutes of time, the episode somehow managed to tie up the major loose ends from the season to bring fans a satisfying ending to what was truly an incredible season.

While there is a lot to unpack from the Moon Knight finale, chances are if you’ve made it to this page you’re just getting ready to watch the final episode of the season or just finished the episode and are trying to figure out if there is a reason to stick around for the credits.

After opting not to include a post-credit scene of any kind in episodes 1-5, Moon Knight episode 6 finally included a post-credit scene and it was one that definitely left viewers wanting more and wondering what’s next for the characters introduced this season.

Before we explain the meaning of the post-credits scene, please note that Moon Knight season 1 finale spoilers are ahead.

Ending of Moon Knight explained

As the Moon Knight post-credit scene begins, we’re once again transported to a psychiatric hospital where we find Harrow. Clearly in a daze, Harrow knocks over a cup of coffee and makes a mess which catches the attention of a nurse in the area.

Just as said nurse approaches Harrow and tells him it’s time to rest, a mysterious figure shows up and says he’ll take care of him. As the mystery man wheels Harrow through the halls, we see a series of bodies in the path hinting that the man who has come for Harrow is not part of the hospital staff and took drastic actions to get to Harrow.

Upon exiting the hospital, the mystery man throws Harrow into the back of a limo which is where he’s greeted by a familiar face: Khonshu, who just so happens to be rocking a more dapper look than the attire we’ve grown accustomed to seeing him in.

Harrow is quick to quip that Khonshu can’t hurt him (and Ammit, who has been tethered to Harrow’s body). It’s then that Khonshu drops a major revelation on Harrow.

As Khonshu explains, Marc truly believed that he wanted Layla to become his avatar but the truth was that he didn’t want or need anyone else thanks to Marc not realizing how troubled he truly is. Cue a knock on the window used as a barrier between the driver and passengers as Khonshu tells Harrow he wants to introduce him to a friend of his: Jack Lockley — yet another personality inhabiting Marc’s body.

Jake is all too happy to eliminate Harrow and Ammit, firing off a series of shots in the car seeming to kill the pair in the back of the limo before driving off into the distance as the episode came to a close.

The ending of Moon Knight episode 6 via the post-credit scene is designed as a way to finally introduce viewers to Marc’s third personality Jake, who is often depicted as Marc’s most ruthless personality and one of his many aliases in the comics.

His introduction at the end of the episode seems to confirm there are plans to further the Moon Knight lore with either a second season or perhaps even a movie. While we’ll have to wait to see just what the future holds, Marvel clearly has a plan in place to continue the story in some way and it’s going to be interesting to finally get to meet Jake whenever that time arrives.
