A major report hints Warner Bros. Discovery is not pleased with J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot Productions delivery in DC Comics properties.

Things are not looking too good for J.J. Abrams according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter discussing projects being developed at the newly-merged Warner Bros. Discovery, the DC-related properties under the watchful eye of CEO David Zaslav, has yet to see anything come to light.

It is safe to say that Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot Productions, which he oversees with his partner and wife, Katie McGrath, are being given a lot more pressure to have a number of DC projects come to fruition.

Bad Robot has multiple projects under DC’s line up such as the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, live-action shows with the likes of Constantine, Madame X, and a Zatanna film scripted by Emerald Fennell. This is not even going against the grain, compared to the Ta-Nehisi Coates penned Superman reboot.

Is J.J. Abrams’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery in jeopardy?

THR made the point of contention to state that while the $500 million five-year production deal between Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Discovery is not in jeopardy, there is frustration as to the lack of output, particularly on the delivery of DC productions on HBO Max. Although sources close to THR have reported the bigwigs at Warner have seen scripts for Constantine and the pilot of Madame X.

Needless to say, the sci-fi drama series, Demimonde, one of two projects outside of DC has been canceled which left at least 600 people out of work. This does not look good for either Abrams or Bad Robot if this continues. We may have to wait and see what becomes of the other projects under Warner to see what happens.
