3. A DCEU version of Batman

Will Batfleck return, or won’t he? It’s a plaguing question for all DCEU and has been for years. For a while, we didn’t think Ben Affleck would wear the suit again. We thought his swan song was Andrés Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash movie. However, we recently learned that Affleck will return for his friend, Jason Momoa, in a possible post-credits scene in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. We don’t know what role he’ll play or if it will connect to The Flash. Then we have Michael Keaton, who will return in The Flash but his role outside of that movie seems uncertain thanks to WBD’s new direction for the movies. The DCEU can’t, nor should it, exist without a Batman.

It’s well known that Matt Reeves’ Batman is in a universe of its own. Sure, there’s a slim chance and realistic way for his Batman to be the catalyst of the DCEU. Chances are, it won’t happen. With that said, recasting Batman needs to happen. There’s too much meat on the bone for a Batman trilogy in the DCEU timeline that differs from Reeves’. There are a few actors who’d nail the role; Nicholas Hoult, Josh Hartnett, Shia LaBeouf, Jensen Ackles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Justin Theroux — to name a few.

We could see A Death in the Family come to life as a prequel to the events of Batman v Superman. Snyder isn’t in charge of his story so, that Robin suit in the Batcave could be Jason Todd. We can get a live-action Dick Grayson, while Jared Leto gets a redo as the Clown Prince who killed Jason Todd. That would also tie into the original Suicide Squad scene where he nearly killed The Joker and explain why he became the way he was. Not really, but you get the picture.
