6. Deadpool

Wade Wilson wasn’t always a person looking for redemption. There was a time when he was downright deplorable. His first appearance (New Mutants No. 98) is an example of this. He was ready to kill teenagers because he was paid to. Since then he’s been an Avenger, welcomed in Krakoa, and trusted by Wolverine and Cable – two people who used to hate him. Wade continues to earn people’s trust, even if he slides back every so often.

The 20th Century Fox movies show Deadpool as a hero of sorts. Bringing him into the MCU shouldn’t change that. Having him fight the X-Men or mutants doesn’t have to make him evil. That would ruin the character. Turning him into a pawn or having him forced to attack the X-Men, however, could make him an antagonist and still maintain his growth. All of the action scenes against mutants and comedy with none of the character’s regression.

5. Reverend William Stryker

Straight to the point, Reverend Stryker is one of the worst people in comic books. At least Joker doesn’t discriminate or weaponize religion for his cause. Reverend William Stryker does both. He’s also called mutants abominations just for being different and hates them for existing. If you need to see how awful he is, read X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills. It’s something every comic book fan should read.

That said, Disney and Marvel may not want to feature a villain that weaponizes religion. Of course, it could make an important statement by highlighting that his viewpoints are wrong. Seeing people back away from him for attacking mutants could be a powerful scene, especially if Nightcrawler is the character they’re following.
