Luke Benward as Gambit

Gambit was the most misused, under-used, and disrespected of the mutants in Fox’s X-Men film series. The original trilogy pretended like he didn’t exist by not involving him at any point. Wolverine’s origin story used Gambit in a cameo-like role, if nothing more than to give fans a glimpse at the Louisiana mutant. Taylor Kitsch and Gambit deserved better.

Channing Tatum was working on a Gambit solo movie where he’d star as the hero. Disney should give him the story he deserves. He’s a mutant who plays a role in one of the best comic book stories in history, X-Men: Mutant Massacre. The massive Marvel crossover event sees the Marauders slide into the city of New York and slaughter innocent mutants for no reason other than to fulfil Mr. Sinister’s plan. Gambit, as a big bad struggling with the aftermath of his actions, would make for a great story.

We know the trench coat wearing mutant for explosive cards. He’s a smooth master thief with the ability to transfer kinetic energy into objects. Luke Benward played a smooth con artist in the 2021 crime drama Playing God. The 27-year-old can bring the dark, mysterious, and cunning characteristics needed for Gambit.

Other solid choices are Tyler Posey, Douglas Booth, and Gavin Leatherwood.
