Superman and Lois season 3 is on the horizon. Unfortunately, it’s not close enough to show up next month.
It’s been a few months since Superman and Lois season 2 bowed out and the Man of Steel saved two parallel earths from the Parasite, a.k.a. Ally Allston.
The second season was one of change for Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and their extended family. Not only did the Fam of Steel still have to contend with settling back into Smallville, Lois had to find a way to reconnect with her sister to protect her from Ally, Sam Lane had to get used to life without being general of the DOD, and Natalie Irons had to get used to living on a whole new world. It was a lot for our heroes, and it’s clear that season 3 will be more of the same.
Superman and Lois was renewed for a third season earlier this year, making it one of the lucky few to survive The CW’s mass cancellation spree. However, there will be some changes, specifically in regards to one major character, as Jordan Elsass won’t be returning to play Jonathan Kent. Instead, Clark and Lois’ son will be played by Australian actor Michael Bishop.
Fall TV is officially a go at The CW in October, with DC’s Stargirl, Kung Fu and Walker leading the pack. Unfortunately, Superman and Lois is not part of the fall line-up.
Superman and Lois season 3 release date predictions
The third season of Superman and Lois will premiere on The CW network in 2023. While many of the network’s veteran shows will return in October, Superman & Lois season 3 has been held until midseason.
As for when exactly it could premiere, an early 2023 release date is possible. The first season debuted at the end of February 2021, while season 2 premiered in January 2022. The downside to that is the fact that both of those seasons saw the show forced to take multiple extended hiatuses due to pandemic-related production breaks.
The breaks were understandable, but it did leave fans questioning The CW’s decision to start the seasons so early if the show’s run was going to be consistently hindered by hiatuses. With that in mind, we wouldn’t rule out a spring debut for Superman and Lois season 3 as it would give the cast and crew more time to film more episodes, meaning that the season could enjoy a mostly-uninterrupted run on air.
Of course, these are just predictions and it’s best to wait for official confirmation from The CW, producer Todd Hellbing and the cast and crew before making any assumptions about when season 3 will premiere.
In the meantime, you can get your fix of DC TV on The CW in October as DC’s Stargirl season 3 airs every Wednesday night at 8/7c.
