Fantastic Four: Jodie Comer stuns as Sue Storm in jaw-dropping image
Fans have been calling for Jodie Comer to be cast as Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, in Fantastic Four and this image highlights why.
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four movie may have suffered yet another setback in the form of its most recent delay, but it’s one that Marvel Cinematic Universe fans aren’t too heartbroken about.
Once upon a time, it seemed like the heroic foursome would never make their presence felt on the MCU because Fox owned the movie rights. With Marvel Studios reacquiring the characters’ movie rights after their acquisition of Fox a number of years back, the cinematic returns of Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing are nearly upon us.
And with rumors continuing to swirl in regards to who is playing each of the characters, let’s take a moment to admire this incredible artwork of Jodie Comer suited up as Sue Storm.
What Jodie Comer could look like as the MCU’s Sue Storm in Fantastic Four
Digital artist diiegodesigner took to Instagram to showcase a recent piece of his artwork, depicting what Jodie Comer could look like if she were to play the role of Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four.
The captivating image sees Comer suited up in the Marvel team’s iconic blue uniform, with their recognizable “4” insignia on her shoulder. There is also a blue glow around her which, along with her bright blue eyes, tease her incredible powers.
Is Jodie Comer playing Sue Storm in Fantastic Four?
At this point it remains unknown who will be portraying the Invisible Woman in the MCU as the role has yet to be cast (or at the very least, it has yet to be announced). That being said, Jodie Comer has been one of the multiple actresses heavily rumored to play the part, with a report last year suggesting that Marvel has quietly cast her in the role.
This report also states that Penn Badgley has been cast in the role of Reed Richards. The only issue is that the report also believed Marvel Studios would announce the pair’s casting at Disney D23 Fan Expo – something that ultimately did not happen.
As with all rumors, it’s important to take Jodie Comer’s rumored casting with a pinch of salt – especially since it wasn’t announced at D23. There is no denying that the Killing Eve star would be a great choice to play the role (as would other rumored names Emily Blunt, Melissa Benoist and Natalia Dyer). The most recent rumor now suggests that Margot Robbie could be the studio’s choice to play the character. But that’s also just another rumor at this point.
Fantastic Four updates
After all went quiet on the Fantastic Four front yet again, it was recently confirmed that filming for the movie will commence in early 2024. That means that casting is expected to get underway pretty soon, so things are finally starting to happen for the long-gestating movie. And to say fans are excited about the possibility of seeing the Fantastic Four in the MCU would be a huge understatement.
It would definitely be the icing on the cake if Jodie Comer was cast as Sue Storm!
Fantastic Four will now release on February 14, 2025.
