Dave Bautista  as Mr. Freeze

Another character that Dave Bautista could bring to life in James Gunn’s DC Universe is Mr. Freeze, also known as Dr. Victor Fries. A cryogenicist who becomes a criminal after an accident leaves him unable to survive outside of sub-zero temperatures, Mr. Freeze is a classic Batman villain with a tragic origin story.

What sets Mr. Freeze apart from other villains is his unwavering devotion to his wife, Nora, who is cryogenically frozen. This makes Mr. Freeze a multi-layered character with motivations that are both personal and compelling.

Bautista has shown that he can convey both strength and vulnerability Jimmy in Blade Runner 2049 was one. He played a simple but honest character who works as a replicant waste disposal worker. This is something that would be key to playing Mr. Freeze, as the character must show his commitment to his wife while also being a ruthless and dangerous criminal.

Bautista’s physicality would also be an asset in bringing Mr. Freeze to life on the big screen. With his imposing stature, Bautista would make a credible threat as a villain who can hold his own against Batman. I can see him in a Reeves film going toe-to-toe with Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

Bautista has proven himself as a versatile actor capable of taking on challenging roles. Both Dr. Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze would be excellent choices for him in James Gunn’s DC Universe, offering him the opportunity to showcase his range and bring new life to these classic villains.
