Outside of the confirmed projects, which comic book movies and TV shows could have trailers or teasers during the Super Bowl? Here’s what we’d like to see.

The Super Bowl is America’s biggest sporting event of the year. Sure, the NBA Finals and World Series are easily the most recognizable. However, unlike the NBA and MLB, the NFL’s championship is one game, winner takes all. Because it’s during a single night, people plan parties all across the country. That means there are millions of eyes on this one game. Even people who don’t watch football get into the Super Bowl. Why would they do that? A huge part of it is the commercials.

Companies pay huge amounts of money to get their products advertised. Since comic book projects have become so popular, studios have often used the Super Bowl to promote their upcoming movies and TV shows. So far, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Flash, and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania are among the confirmed trailers we can expect to see at the event. There could be room for more.

Here are the nine projects that could have commercials during the Super Bowl.

9. The Marvels

It’s shocking that The Marvels isn’t among the list of commercials confirmed to premiere. There have been rumors that we could see some kind of teaser towards the release, and it would make sense since its one of this year’s big summer releases. This writer fully expects to see a teaser at the very least. Let the women superheroes shine too, Marvel!

8. Spider-Man (PlayStation)

It’s been a year since Sony/PlayStation released the teaser for Spider-Man 2. There hasn’t even been gameplay since the teaser debuted. The Super Bowl is the perfect place for the next step of promotions. Especially since it’s been a while since the announcement and it’s scheduled to come out this year. Maybe viewers will see more of the Venom than just his teeth and eyes. If there’s more, comic book fans will be ecstatic.

7. The Boys/Gen V

Both of Amazon Prime’s comic book projects Gen V and The Boys season 4 should be coming out this year. A trailer for The Boys‘ college spinoff Gen V just recently came out and it looks amazing. However, there’s been nothing for The Boys. Not even a hint on when fans are getting season 4. Wouldn’t it be great if we got a teaser at the Super Bowl? Although, don’t be shocked if only part of Gen V’s trailer has new footage.

6. Loki season 2

Loki season 2 could be the most anticipated comic book project of this year and arguably the most popular show. With the expansion of the multiverse, and Kang the Conqueror coming in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, why wouldn’t Marvel promote this on the biggest sporting event of the year? Wouldn’t it make sense to have Loki appear in some capacity? If not in a full on commercial, then seeing Tom Hiddleston’s Loki talking about the Super Bowl while he makes fun of mortals’ love for football.

5. The Mandalorian season 3

A trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian was released a few weeks ago. Was that the final trailer? It’s possible. Nevertheless, there’s a large crossover between Star Wars and NFL fans. A reminder that the show is coming out in less than a month wouldn’t hurt. It’s also an opportunity to bring in new viewers. Grogu (Baby Yoda) is a magnet for viewers.

4. Blue Beetle

Blue Beetle isn’t Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or any other comic book character. Not just in powers, but in popularity. Fans of DC Comics love him because he’s great, but he’s not known to the general public. The Super Bowl would be the right place to show a teaser of Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle) using his powers in the upcoming Blue Beetle movie. Don’t expect a full trailer for this. But it would make sense to show a teaser with a release date of Blue Beetle, letting the world know that the movie is coming.

3. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

This is the game this writer is waiting for more than anything this year. The Suicide Squad’s powers and skills aren’t close to the Justice League. How are they supposed to fight them? Hopefully a new trailer will explain how.

The original gameplay trailer showed Captain Boomerang running at super speed. Does this mean the Suicide Squad is getting power upgrades? If so, showing this could get people to preorder the game.

2. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

A month ago, Sony released a big trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It showed more Spider-Beings than we’ve seen since the comics. Among them was Peter B. Parker, Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman played by Issa Rae), and Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy). Since the trailer was recently released, it’s unlikely that we’ll get another one at the Super Bowl, but it would be cool to see a clip of Miles Morales and Gwen in the Spider-Verse. It would be a great boost since the movie debuts in June.

1. Something unexpected

It would be awesome to see a surprise comic book, Star Wars, or streaming service related commercial during the Super Bowl. There are always projects being worked on that haven’t been announced. It could be a new DC or Marvel video game, a surprise from James Gunn, or something else. Maybe Amazon will give an actual release date for season 2 of Invincible.

Regardless of what it is, you can expect something unexpected during the Super Bowl commercials. Here’s hoping it’s a tease of something unexpected from the comic book world.
