Jack Champion as Jimmy Olsen

Zack Snyder used Jimmy Olsen as a throughway character. In Superman: Legacy, James Gunn has promised to explore the early years of Clark Kent as he tries to navigate find his place in the world. Clark’s best pal and Daily Planet photographer, Jimmy Olsen will likely play a role in Clark’s development. At 18, Jack Champion could bring a fresh perspective to the character, which could give the film a unique take on the relationship between Clark and Jimmy.

Champion is a talented rising star in Hollywood who could be the perfect fit to play the iconic role of Jimmy Olsen. With recent roles in Scream VI and Avatar Way of the Water, he has shown he has the acting chops to bring Olsen to life on the big screen. Olsen is an important character in Superman’s journey, and Champion’s youthfulness, charisma, and comic-accurate looks could make him a great fit.

As a young, idealistic farm boy from Smallville, Clark may have felt like an outsider in the big city of Metropolis. But Jimmy, with his boundless enthusiasm and can-do spirit, was the perfect companion for the young superhero who may be losing faith in the world. Whether it was helping Clark track down a story or keeping his secret identity under wraps, Jimmy was always there to lend a hand in the comics.

It wasn’t just Clark who benefited from their friendship. Jimmy was often the one to remind Clark of his humanity and the importance of using his powers for good. And when things got tough, Jimmy was always there with a joke or a word of encouragement to keep Clark going.

In James Gunn’s film, we can expect to see a young Jimmy Olsen who is just as eager and ambitious as his future boss, Perry White. And with his infectious personality and loyal friendship, he will undoubtedly play an important role in Clark’s journey to becoming the hero we all know and love.
