X-Men: The Quiet Council votes to tell the world about Sin of Sinister

The X-Men’s Colossus votes to tell everyone that Mr. Sinister ruined the world. Another moment that will lead to the Fall of X.

The Quiet Council is down members. After Sins of Sinister, Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, and Hope Summers couldn’t be trusted with votes. It was unclear if Sinister’s genetics were still affecting their decisions. Meanwhile, Nightcrawler is gone and Storm is focusing on Arrako. This left Colossus to be their proxy, which gives him three votes. Unfortunately, he’s being controlled by a mutant. He’s been forcing Colossus to do things he normally wouldn’t (read X-Force by Benjamin Percy for how his brother Mikhail Rasputin is doing this).

In Immortal X-Men No. 12, two major votes came up. The first allowed the X-Men villain Selene to join the Quiet Council of Krakoa. That means the selfish mutants vote now outnumber the good five to four. The second was even bigger: Colossus presented the idea of telling the world that Nathaniel Essex ruined their previous world (this happened in Sin of Sinister). His vote was passed. Soon, all of Earth will know that their world was previously changed.

What’s next for the X-Men

When the world finds out that someone within Krakoa took over the universe, mutants will be hated more than ever. This could lead to world and maybe intergalactic governments possibly taking away Krakoa’s diplomatic immunity or attacking them. This is on top of Orchis sabotaging the Krakoan drugs (X-Men No. 22 by Gerry Duggan), Nimrod looking like a hero during Judgement Day A.X.E., and Beast going rogue in Wolverine by Benjamin Percy.

Marvel Comics has been promoting the Fall of X heavily over the past two months. It looks like everything happening to mutants could lead to Krakoa’s demise. Maybe Fall of X isn’t just a title. It may actually be the end of the mutants’ island nation.
