Samara Weaving

If James Gunn and Peter Safran opt to cast one of the biggest stars of today as Supergirl in the DC Universe, then Samara Weaving would be an excellent choice, especially coming off the back of high-profile movies such as Babylon and Scream VI.

Weaving is one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood. At just 31 years old, she already has an amazing résumé, with roles in major movies and TV shows HollywoodNine Perfect StrangersReady or NotThe Babysitter: Killer QueenBill and Ted Face the Music, and Scream VI. She has also established herself as something of a scream queen in a very short amount of time and knows a thing or two about playing a character long-term, having played the character of Indi Walker on iconic Australian soap Home and Away for four years.

As all of that highlights, she’s an amazing talent with a real presence on screen. Her performances as a scream queen highlight the passion and drive that she puts into her roles (have you seen her scream?) and those are necessary traits in bringing the Girl of Steel to life. Not only is Weaving a sensational actor, she also resembles the comic book version of Supergirl, making her a perfect choice to play the role.
