DC: Jensen Ackles suits up as Batman in stunning image

Ever wondered what Dean Winchester would look like as Bruce Wayne/Batman? Now, you can! That’s the fan art Captain Raccoon cooked up with Jensen Ackles suited up as Batman.

This inspiration didn’t just come from anywhere, though! There are rumors that Jensen Ackles is possibly being considered to star as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Brave and the Bold. 

Ackles was asked about playing Batman at Jus In Bello Convention in Italy, according to Deadline, and Ackles said he would be interested in playing the character, but he laughed off the rumors and also said it looked like Pedro Pascal will probably get the role. Here’s what he told the crowd:

"“Uh, I don’t know. Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you. I mean, could I do it? Sure. Would I want to do it? Yes.”"

I don’t think I’m alone in saying it would be amazing to see Ackles play Batman at some point in the future.  Obviously, we know that Robert Pattinson is playing Batman in The Batman 2 (also known as The Batman – Part II). Matt Reeves’ movie will be released on Oct. 3, 2025. It looks like there could be a new Batman in the DCU with Peter Safran and James Gunn in charge.

Is Jensen Ackles really playing Batman?

Well, if you’re talking about live-action, it doesn’t look like Ackles is really in discussions to play Batman. While those might develop in the future, it’s unclear how much stock should be given to the rumors that Ackles could be playing Batman.

But, if you’re talking about animation, then, yeah, we know Ackles is going to voice Batman, as he’s already done a few times before. Ackles is voicing Batman in Batman: Warworld, coming in 2023.

It’s always cool to see the animated voice actor become the star in a live-action version! I’m hoping that happens with Shameik Moore, Miles Morales, and Spider-Man in whatever Sony is working on, but it’d be really cool to see it for Ackles, as well.

What’s next for Jensen Ackles?

You’ll probably see Ackles next in The Boys spinoff, Gen V, along with The Boys season 4, although that production is currently delayed because of the WGA strike. Gen V is confirmed to be released in the fall of 2023.
